REVIEW: FluffyYukYuk

Img_3740

Background

The newest plush character from OhNo!Doom is a green octopus looking character named FluffyYukYuk.  You might remember the mouth-chomping plush FluffyBadBad, which was released two years ago.  Well, YukYuk is the newest addition to the Fluffy family.

Don’t get too close. Don’t stare into their eyes. And most importantly, don’t call em snookems…because no matter how cute, cuddly, snuggly or cooshy they are, FluffyYukYuk is proof that cute things can and most definitely will bite.  That’s right! Real chomping action included with every FluffyYukYuk! You can bite dang near anything! So go ahead, chomp away!

Packaging

It’s a mouth-chomping plush, so there’s not much packaging to mention.  There is a very large tag that’s attached to FluffyYukYuk.  It’s probably just as large as the plush, but it lists a number of user warnings.

The Figure

FluffyYukYuk is approximately 5 ½” tall by 8” wide.  It differs from FluffyBadBad, which you might remember had a metal mouth.  The newly designed chomp-action teeth are made of hard plastic.  You operate that mouth by sticking your index finger and thumb into the back of the plush’s head (there are two finger holes) and squeeze.

The plush has a beanbag bottom, which will allow it to be displayed on a shelf.  It’s modeled to look like an octopus…but an octopus that might have lost a pair of legs (it has six legs). It does not appear that a run size has been set as of the moment.

Our Opinion

We chose FluffyBadBad as our 2006 Plush of the Year.  It was a new design, simple and cute.  Well, with FluffyYukYuk, OhNo!Doom has refined the process, changed some materials and bettered their product.  Gone is the steel grill, which could have easily chomped off one of your digits.  BadBad and YukYuk shouldn’t be played with by kids.

The new plastic mouth gives the plush a cleaner look.  They designed the mouth so that threads could go through holes in the plastic, rather than only gluing the material to the mouth.

It’s still fairly affordable for a more complicated plush toy.  We can’t wait to see the next character in OhNo!Doom’s Fluffy lineup.
