Background
So far, 2009 has given fans of the Uglydolls a number of new collectable plushies. The fourth and fifth releases of the year are the first married couple from David and Sun-Min – Mr. Kasoogi and Mrs. Kasoogi.
Mr. Kasoogi is a treasure hunter. He's had a lot of practice hunting for smaller items like candy, donuts, and even fruit. Now he's ready to take on the big challenges...But he needs a partner. Someone he can trust. Or maybe someone like you. Are you up for it? Will you be there when Mrs. Kasoogi turns the kitchen lights on and you're caught with your hand in the cookie jar? Yes? Good! You take the blame! Mr. Kasoogi doesn't mess with Mrs. Kasoogi.
Mrs. Kasoogi is the boss in the family. She makes sure things run without snags and she keeps Mr. Kasoogi out of the cookie jar. That way there's more for her! Mrs. Kasoogi demands respect and attention. Attention to details! Small details such as where to find buried treasure, paranormal evidence, the secret of life, the secret to your best recipes, and the secret to finding enough time in the day to get things done. Things like naps.

One of the newest Uglydoll designs from David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim is named Winkolina. The bright yellow/green Ugly is the third character from the 2009 wave. We’ve reprinted Winkolina’s background story here:
You may look at Winkolina and say "There goes a really plain, regular, everyday looking Ugly." But on the inside, Winkolina is an adventure waiting to happen. Which is funny because she sees that in you too! Winkolina thinks you have nothing but action and adventure locked away, way deep down! Is she right? Are you ready to show the world what you've really got going on in there? Winkolina has 6 cookies, an apple, and 11 tacos in there. What about you?
Tag
As with all Uglydolls, Winkolina’s tag features an illustration of the character as well as the above listed background information.

With the preview of the 2009 line of Uglydolls, folks were bound to choose a favorite…or two. The first character from David and Sun-Min – Trunko - was released to Ugly collectors (Uglydoll collectors, that is) in February.
Trunko is over the top. He freaks out over everything and overreacting is his hobby. When the chips are down, he orders a million more chips at wholesale prices. Where there's smoke there's fire..and there's Trunko using a fire hose to put out his birthday candles. Full throttle, go go go...You know how you look before you leap? Yeah, that's not Trunko. So please be patient with him. Please be a pal. Please use caution.
Packaging
You might find Trunko in a clear plastic bag, but in all likelihood, this Uglydoll will be free to roam. Like all Uglys, he has a tag with an illustration as well as the background information reprinted above.

Poe is an Ugly Dragon. Once a year, Ugly Dragons fly along the dark side of the moon. It’s sort of a tradition they have. There’s a bunch of secret bases there now though, so they have to keep themselves hidden. Poe uses his special stealth mode to avoid detection, and uses his special see-o-vision to locate hidden snack foods and unknown toy shops. Poe sometimes skips out on his moon flight and hits the comic conventions Want to geek out with Poe? Want to hide? Both?
Hidden Poe was introduced to collectors at the ’09 NY Comic Con. Like all of the other Uglydolls, David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim designed Poe. However, the original character is a green plush, with Hidden Poe being the black variant.
Packaging
You probably won’t find the Hidden Poe plush packaged in anything but the air. Unless you picked one up at NY Comic Con…then they were packaged in the Ugly garbage cans. The plush does have a tag with an illustrated Hidden Poe and the background info from above.
